COVID 19 Relief Camp 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic has upended the lives of children and their families as health systems buckle, borders close, and schools and businesses shutter. The urgent action we take today can prevent the COVID-19 pandemic and aftermath of Amphan super cyclone from becoming a lasting crisis for our children.

June 2020 Relief Camp

20,000Kg of daily essential food items distributed among 1700 families of Khelaghar children and the supporting network of local transport vendors.

August 2020 Relief Camp

Essential food items and personal hygiene kit distributed among the families of Khelaghar school children throughout the month of August.

COVID-19 is not just tackling under-resourced fragile health systems, it’s attacking the way children access education, the way their families earn an income to cover their needs, and how safe they feel in their homes, communities and countries.

Khelaghar teachers diligently set lessons in the school exercise books and prepare worksheets for the children which are collected by the parents. The children complete these worksheets based on instructions provided through video clippings on the phone or through direct telephonic conversations with the teachers. This is an earnest effort to keep the flame of learning alive amidst the current crisis.
